Chemonics International, an international development consulting firm, seeks a Finance Manager for a long-term position on an anticipated USAID-funded project supporting supply chain strengthening for the health sector in Kenya.

The project will provide assistance and support to KEMSA in their efforts to become stronger, more efficient, more effective, and increasingly accountable.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the budgeting process, financial management, and management of a team of program administrative and operations personnel.

S/he will work directly with the COP to ensure that the organization functions efficiently in all financial, operational and administrative matters and that adequate internal control is maintained.

Qualifications include:
  • Formal education in Business Administration, Accounting or an equivalent field at the masters degree level (or higher);
  • Minimum of five years of experience in administration of USAID-funded contracts or grants in developing countries;
  • Demonstrated experience in finance, program operations, procurement, and inventory development and control;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply USAID procedures related to financial management, contract administration, and procurement, etc;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations;
  • Demonstrated ability to use financial management tools and programs;
  • Experience in the field, particularly East Africa;
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrated management of sub-contractors and a team of individuals;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior Government personnel, NGO partners, faith-based organizations, host country citizens, U.S. and foreign government organizations, donor partners, and the private sector;
  • English fluency.
