Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO) is a national membership network of organization with over 1000 Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs), Community Based Organization (CBOs), Faith Based Organization (FBOs), Private Sector, Research and Learning Institutions responding to HIV & AIDS and TB in Kenya.

Location: Kenya - Central

Role:

The Regional coordinator will oversee, lead and manage the field operations of the regional office in Central province office. He/she will be responsible for maintaining relationships with the various stakeholders, monitoring, and ensuring achievement of overall project objectives.

The Regional coordinator will also provide technical assistance by way of backstopping relevant projects/programmes at the KANCO office in Central.

Major duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the Mombasa regional resource centre
  • Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the progress and performance of regional programmes/ projects to ensure acceptable performance standard
  • Prepare budgets for regional programmes under the direction and approval of supervisor
  • Recruitment of KANCO members at regional level.
  • Liaise with other KANCO departments in providing services to the community
  • Acquire and distribute HIV/AIDS information materials
  • Develop and maintain computer databases for the regional office
  • Popularise computer based systems at the regional level (e.g. email, internet and use of ICTs)
  • Respond to KANCO member’s inquiries
  • Resource centre fund mobilization for support to centre continuity/ activities
  • Contribution to monitoring and evaluation
  • Preparation of regular progress reports
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and experience
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or Information Studies
  • Experience: Not less than 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge: Communication; Library and Information Studies; IT training; Project management
