The Foundation is currently headquartered in New York in the United States, and has offices in Bangkok, Thailand and Nairobi, Kenya and a study and conference centre in Bellagio, Italy.

The Foundation is seeking to recruit a talented and results-oriented individual to fill the position of Manager Resources.

The position will be responsible for managing the Nairobi office finance, HR and administrative functions, in close liaison with the New York office.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the Africa Regional Office, the position will be based in Nairobi, with dotted reporting to the Foundation’s Chief Finance Officer and Chief Human Resource Officer in New York.

Key responsibilities will include:

Finance and Administration
  1. Maintaining financial records as well as updating and ensuring implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls in Rockefeller’s Africa Regional Office;
  2. Budgeting, planning and financial forecasting;
  3. Managing the annual external audit process and working closely with the OGM to process grants;
  4. Ensuring continued compliance with legal, administrative and fiscal matters;
  5. Coordinating IT related issues in the office; and
  6. Managing the Foundation’s vehicles, computers and other equipment.
Human Resource Management
  • Managing recruitment and on-boarding activities for regional staff;
  • Co-ordinating application and follow up of visas and work permits for international staff;
  • Overseeing payroll and benefits administration;
  • Managing, updating and enforcing HR policies and procedures;
  • Providing employees with advice and coaching on employee relations;
  • Identifying training needs of staff and managing the training plan; and
  • Preparing and monitoring the annual HR budget.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelors Degree and a professional qualification in Accounting, such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent, while an MBA would be an added advantage;
  • A minimum of five years experience in finance and human resources management;
  • Proficiency with budgeting, variance reporting, strengthening internal controls and cash management;
  • Proficiency with Quick Books, MS Office applications, electronic banking and reporting systems; and
  • Contract negotiation and procurement experience.
