Internal Audit Manager

Responsible to the Board of Directors through the C.E.O

The duties include:
 
  • Monitoring internal control environment and independently appraise the Sacco operations to ensure assets are safeguarded;
  • Ensure implementation of the policies and procedures and ensure strict adherence to stipulated legal and governance matters;
  • Undertake overall risk identification, risk analysis, mitigation and suggesting appropriate and relevant recommendations and remedies whenever internal controls lapses are identified;
  • Undertaking of financial audits to assess compliance with set standards and ensure timely financial reporting;
  • Preparation of work plans, targets and periodic evaluation of staff performance appraisal;
  • Preparing and submitting of the regular, periodic internal audit reports to the Board;
  • Ensuring implementation of the recommendations of the external auditors and the management;
  • Advisor to the board audit committee as a member;
  • Ensure that Information Communication Technology (ICT) system has sound internal control systems and is in conformity to set standards.
Academic/Professional Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance), CPA (K) and A Bachelor of Commerce/ Business Administration degree (Finance or Accounting or Auditing) with 5 years similar experience in a comparable position in a similar organization or;
  • A degree in Commerce (Accounting or Auditing option), CPA (K) and a Diploma in Co-operative Management with a minimum 8 years relevant experience in a senior position in a comparable organization.
  • Be in possession of CISA Certification.
Driver
GRD III

Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager:

Academic/ Experience Requirements
  • A clean and valid driving license free from current endorsements for any classes of vehicles which the candidate is required to drive;
  • Have passed the suitability test for drivers Grade III at KIBHIT;
  • Current certificate of good conduct;
  • Have a minimum period of 5 years previous satisfactory driving experience after obtaining the driving license.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • O – level certificate grade D+
