The County Council of Mwingi wish to fill the following vacant positions in her establishment.

(1) Procurement Officer

Scale 10 – £11340 X 321 - £12,945 X £354 - £15,069 X £399 - £16,665P.A.

Qualification
 
  • Applicants should have C+ mean grade and above in their “O” level or Division II.
  • A Diploma in procurement/Supplies acquired from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with Kenya Institutes of Suppliers Management.
  • Three years working experience in a related field.
  • Computer proficiency is a must.
Responsibilities
  • To ensure procurement of works /services is done as per the public procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Regulations 2006.
  • Monitor the trends of stores and work out re-order levels.
  • Undertake market surveillance on the procurement process of goods and services.
  • Ensure efficient management and distribution of stores.
  • Participate in receiving and opening of tender documents.
  • Prepare tender documents in liaison with user departments.
  • Participate in evolution of tenders, proposals and quotations.
  • Prepare documents for the tender committee meetings.
  • Prepare contracts documents in line with award decision.
  • Identify unserviceable stores and recommend for disposal in line with procurement regulations.
(2) Computer Programmer II

Scale 10 – £11340 X 321 - £12,945 X £354 - £15,069 X £399 - £16,665 P.A.

Education:
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Information Technology.
Experience
  • Basic Computer programming.
  • Experience in providing assistance to end users concerning the use of computers.
  • Hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, operating systems, systems client software and specialized software that may be used by the council.
  • Broad knowledge of PC hardware/software and peripherals to networking.
  • Ability to provide PC hardware/software training individually and in group based setting.
  • Diagnose the cause of personal computer operation problems and take or recommend appropriate action to take to solve those problems.
  • Performs software basic network configuration procedures for the council.
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system operation problems.
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Good knowledge of:
  • Windows 2003 sever and Active Directory
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Hardware environment (PC, Server)
  • KCSE certificate would be a asset
(3) Driver

Scale 17 – £4,713 X £147– £5,007 X £171–£ 6,375 X £288–£7,743 X £258 – £8,517 P.A.
  • Have K.C.S.E. certificate mean grade D (Plain)
  • Have a valid driving license class BCE
  • Be between 25 – 40 years old
  • Must have four (4) years experience in driving
  • Certificate of good conduct from Kenya Police is a must.
  • Pass in occupational grade test (2) will be also an added advantage
