An established, high-growth agricultural services organization based in Nairobi is looking for motivated Proposal Writers to secure grant funding for agricultural livelihood projects and research in rural communities.

Proposal Writers are salaried positions with full benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a pipeline of proposal applications and achieve monthly targets for submissions and approvals.
  • Be familiar with the requirements and formats of different donors with respect to sectors, priorities, guidelines and what budget lines are fundable and what are not.
  • Know the time frame and submission deadlines for the relevant donors.
  • Identify strategies for multiple funding of rural livelihood development projects.
  • Identify new sources of funding via list serves, internet searches, and networking.
  • Represent organization to potential donors at forums and events.
Requirements
  • 2 years economic development or agriculture experience with established proposal writing skills under strict deadlines.
  • Capacity to work with non-governmental organizations, bilateral development agencies.
  • Familiarity with requirements of key livelihood donors and capacity to work in a multi-donor environment.
  • Good program design skills, including capacity to prepare logical, coherent and consistent documents including log frames.
  • Ability to present effectively to decision groups of donors.
