The Salaries and Remuneration Commission was established by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 with the mandate to set and regularly review the remuneration and benefits of all State Officers and to advise the national and county governments on the remuneration and benefits of all other public officers.

In carrying out its mandate, the Commission has to take into account the principles of; fiscal sustainability of the public compensation bill, attraction and retention of requisite skills for service delivery, productivity and performance, transparency and fairness and equity.

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission is in the process of designing a Logo that will capture and symbolize the Commission's mandate and core principles.

To do this, it requires the contribution of creative Kenyan designers to assist in coming up with a logo that captures the mandate and core principles of the Commission.

The Logo competition is open to Individuals/ Firms/ Companies in Kenya.

General Guidelines

The following are the guidelines, rules and regulations for the competition:
  1. The design should be in black and white and in high resolution colour. It should be submitted in ten (10) hard copies on A4 size paper and a soft copy in PDF, JPEG or TiFF in a windows readable CD;
  2. The logo must be clear and distinctly identifiable for effective application on all Commission materials, website and other relevant platforms;
  3. The logo should include the name of the Commission;
  4. The logo should have the sum total of the core principles captured in a few words as a motto to enhance the artistic design;
  5. The design should be accompanied by a written description of its meaning and features;
  6. The entrants are required to identify possible colours for the Commission;
  7. Entrants in the competition should provide their names, postal addresses, email address and daytime telephone numbers;
  8. The Commission reserves the right to subject the winning logo to necessary modification for its use;
  9. The Commission reserves the right to register the winning logo as its copyright;
  10. Any material, graphic software or other items prepared by an entrant in the competition shall belong to and remain the property of the Commission; and
  11. The judges' decision is final and will not be open to any correspondence or appeal whatsoever.
Reward

The Jury will select the winning logos which will be awarded in order of merit as follows:

1. First position - Kshs. 150,000

2. Second position - Kshs. 50,000

3. Third position - Kshs. 25,000

The designs should be presented in plain sealed envelops, clearly marked "Salaries and Remuneration Commission Logo Competition" and be delivered on or before 30th March, 2012 by 5.00 pm to the address below:
