Savannah Cement is the newest cement player to get into the Kenyan market and is currently about to complete a state - of – the - art greenfield cement grinding plant in Athi River Kenya.

The plant will employ the latest cement technology in the market to produce 1.5 million tonnes of various cement types per annum for the Kenyan and regional market.

Savannah Cement is seeking to recruit highly motivated, dynamic, innovative and result oriented professionals, seeking a thrilling and fulfilling experience, to join the company in the following positions:

Sales Manager

This position reports to the Head of Sales and Marketing, and is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the market, staffing and directing a sales team while providing leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.

Responsibilities
  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the sales executives
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Executives
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines; and
  • Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and maintains contact with all clients in the area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • At least a B.Com (Marketing option) or equivalent with professional qualifications in Sales and Marketing. A Masters will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a reputable commercial organization with exposure to sales and marketing
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams
  • Good ICT knowledge and willingness to travel and work in a group of professionals
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements; and
  • A high level of integrity, excellent reporting, team relations, planning and coordination skills.
  • Sales Experience in the cement Industry will be an added advantage.
