Dealer Development Manager

Kenya / Ghana


The Dealer Development Manager assists the field sales force with dealer development activities to protect company assets within the dealer network.

He / she also implements the strategic direction set by management and may assist management in defining and developing new dealer development strategies in East and West Africa.

The profile of an ideal candidate requires the following:-
  • Understanding financial statements, cash flow and key financial ratios.
  • Understands legal issues effecting area of responsibility.
  • Ability to spot ethical issues in practice.
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery dealer business practices, ideally including the practices followed at John Deere dealerships.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices.
  • Degree in a Business/Management, Accounting/Finance or Marketing discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Business English and French will be a prerequisite for West Africa.
  • Business English and Portuguese will be a prerequisite for East Africa. All applications will be assessed on the following language ability indicated as follows: Speak, Read, Write / Poor, Conversational, Speak and Write, Business.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
Project Manager

Strategic Marketing

This position will lead the process of transitioning identified market opportunities into proposed projects and upon approval through to introduction of solutions in all applicable markets.

He/she will continuously coordinate with Platform, Sales, Tactical Marketing & Enterprise Market research to ensure the successful completion of the project/process converting identified market opportunities in to marketable products or solutions.

The position will take up the responsibility for the Region Corn Value Chain to study, develop and guide activities towards total solution roll-out in Sub-Saharan Africa, China, India and South-East Asia. This position will be based in Kenya, Nairobi.

The ideal candidate should be in possession of:-
  • Project Management skills.
  • Planning Execution skills.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 6-8 years exposure and experience in Agricultural Industry.
  • Market research & analysis experience is desirable.
  • Qualification in Agronomy and /or Agricultural Science.
  • Post-Graduation in Business Management / Marketing will be an added advantage
  • Business English will be a prerequisite and French or Portuguese will be a added advantage.
Territory Customer Support Manager

This position requires that product support and customer / dealer satisfaction and goals are achieved for a specific geographic area of responsibility by developing channel partner technical and customer support capability.

The Territory Customer Support Manager will be responsible for training channel partner / customer as well as administering product warranty and other reimbursive policies for all customer queries in East and West Africa (Kenya, Nairobi / Ghana, Accra).

The ideal candidate should be in possession of :-
  • Degree in Technical / Engineering discipline.
  • Definite knowledge of dealer development and customer and product support processes..
  • Knowledge and experience of Customer Satisfaction Processes.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications and negotiation.
  • Business English and French (Portuguese will be an added advantage) will be a prerequisite for West Africa.
  • Business English and Portuguese (French will be and added advantage) will be a prerequisite for East Africa. All applications will be assessed on the following language ability indicated as follows: Speak, Read, Write / Poor, Conversational, Speak and Write, Business.
  • Advanced computer literate experience.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
Territory Customer Support

Diesel / Tractor Technician

The Product Support Specialist will assist channel partners and field staff in East Africa (Kenya, Nairobi) and West Africa (Ghana, Accra) with solving complex technical problems and conduct advanced technical support activities.

He will ensure that product knowledge is shared with dealer technicians.

The ideal candidate should be in possession of :-
  • Trade tested Diesel Mechanic or Tractor Technician.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of John Deere product range will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of dealer product support capacity and competencies.
  • Knowledge of Dealer Technical Assistance Centre System.
  • Understanding of the Customer Support Processes and Systems.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Candidate must be an independent worker with time management skills and willingness to complete tasks at hand.
  • Experience in training and development area.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Business English (French and Portuguese will be an added advantage).
