Job Title: Senior Reinsurance Executive / Branch Liaison Officer

 
Department: Underwriting

Reporting to: Head of Underwriting
 

Overall Responsibility
 

This position manages all company reinsurance matters and ensures that the net-net position of the Company is adequately protected. 

The position also plays the role of a branch supervisor.
 

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting individual departments with all reinsurance related issues
• Using the system to reserve all treaty coding issues
• Ensuring that the company deals with reputable reinsurance companies at all times
• Timely processing of statutory returns
• Processing and negotiating competitive treaty renewals terms
• Placement of facultative business. Both inward and outward.
• Preparing reinsurance reports for management.
• Ensuring timely processing of recoveries
• Ensuring that the company’s reinsurance programs are adequate and cost effective
• Processing of branch credit notes and refunds
• Processing of Insurance Premium Finance applications
• Management of COMESA yellow cards
• Processing credit notes and policy cancellations and other relevant endorsements from the branches
• Any other duties assigned by management in line with task

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business from recognized university
• 5 papers in ACII or equivalent
• 4 years relevant experience
