Position: Scanning Technician



3 Months Contract

Nairobi.

Our client, a leading Provider of custom software applications in Africa is looking for an experienced Scanning Technician. 



The ideal candidate should have outstanding knowledge in hardware engineering with key strengths in installing, configuring and maintaining scanners to be used by operators during digitization.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software application preferably on windows platform.
  • Demonstrate experience with the technologies used in the industry leading digitization technologies like Kodak, fujtsu, HP etc…
  • Demonstrate experience in consulting clients, peers, vendors, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Install setup and maintain all scanners and computer equipment that shall be used to manage the scanner
  • Experience in interpreting and applying processes, procedures, strategies, and frameworks to ensure that all business and technical initiatives are implemented to the appropriate level of protection.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess new technologies necessary for implementing solutions.
  • Neatly consolidating digitized documents from computers of the scanner operators.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Sensitivity and experience in handling library or archival materials.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Degree in Computer Science/IT, Engineering, or  related field
  • Knowledge and qualifications relating to MCSE will be an added advantage
  • 2-3years experience in handling digitization related projects
  • Being certified in document management, records management or any qualifications relating to digitization would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
