Job Description
 
PATH is an international nonprofit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions, enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. PATH’s mission is to improve the health of people around the world by advancing technologies, strengthening systems, and encouraging healthy behaviors.
 
USAID awarded a comprehensive health service delivery project to PATH to improve the health of Kenyans in the western region of the country. The project, APHIAplus Western Kenya, builds upon USAID/Kenya’s country-wide health service support project known as the AIDS, Population and Health Integrated Assistance II (APHIA II). 

PATH and its partners are implementing the APHIAplus project in Western and Nyanza Provinces from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015. It is working w closely with the Government of Kenya and a wide variety of non-government agencies to strengthen health care services throughout the two provinces. 

In addition to addressing specific diseases, the APHIAplus Western Kenya project works to strengthen the region’s health care system by rehabilitating health facilities, training staff, and supporting supply and communication networks.
 
PATH seeks to recruit four Drivers who will be responsible for meeting the transportation needs of the APHIAplus project.
 
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Drive project staff for project-related trips and activities and assignments as requested.
  • Facilitate the transfer of project visitors to/from their respective hotels to the office as well as airport transfers upon request.
  • Maintain project vehicles in clean and serviceable condition.
  • Manage vehicle fuel cards and maintain proper logs of trips made.
  • Pay office bills, run office errands, collect and deliver packages/mail from the post office.
  • Assist in maintaining motor vehicle insurance record
Required Skills
  • Proven ability to perform general maintenance as required on the vehicle.
  • Conversant with all traffic regulations and the highway code.
  • Willing to make long distance trips.
  • Track record of acting with integrity.
  • A certificate of good conduct from the police.
  • Basic skills in office operating systems preferred.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of four years of driving experience in the zone 1 region and successful completion of a driving course are required. 
  • Must also have a clean and valid driving license, proven ability to drive vehicle classes BCE and minimum O level qualification, aggregate of D+. 
  • Intensive driving training from NYS is an added advantage.
