As the company prepares for further exploration and appraisal activities, Tullow Kenya BV is seeking to appoint the following position:

Civil Engineering Coordinator

Location: Field 75%, Office 25%

The Civil Engineering Coordinator will support the Civil Engineering Manager in the delivery of Civil works plans by offering oversight of Field Engineers and contractors to ensure civil works are conducted in accordance with Tullow standards and specifications, within budget and stipulated timelines.

Responsibilities / Key Objectives
  • Carry out preliminary survey for proposed works and prepare scope of work, bills of quantities, programme, estimates and technical specifications.
  • Provide regular, accurate updates to assist Managers make informed decisions.
  • Hand over site to the Contractor and ensure Contractor commences work as per agreed timelines.
  • Plan utilisation of Contractor resources between projects to optimise company schedules.
  • Supervise and provide Technical support and guidance to the Field Civil Engineers and Clerk of Works to ensure timely completion of the projects within stipulated timelines, within budget and as per specifications.
  • Organise site meetings, visits for Consultants, staff and Contractors.
  • Coordinate timely delivery of Client supplied materials.
  • Verify work done prior to processing of payment.
  • Review weekly and daily reports to ensure that they reflect ground situations and circulate report.
  • Carry out periodic financial appraisal of the projects as necessary.
  • Budget control to ensure work is implemented within budget.
  • Prepare completion certificates and snagging list in liaison with consultants.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in civil engineering; at least 7 years in Civil Engineering works;
    Sound technical skills; 
  • EHS awareness; 
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task; Good verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Management ability and supervisory skills, fully conversant with MS Office, AutoCAD and MS Project.
