The Lutheran World Federation / Department for World Service, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified citizens for the following vacant positions to be based at Kakuma Refugee Camp:

Secondary School Teachers

In the below mentioned subject combinations:-
  • English and Literature
  • Biology / Agriculture
  • Chemistry / Mathematics
  • Chemistry / Biology
  • Mathematics / Business Studies
  • Kiswahili / Geography
  • Mathematics / Physics
Duties and Responsibilities include among others:
  • Preparation of Lesson Plan, Schemes of Work, Lesson Notes, Progress records, Tests and Assignments, etc
  • Submission of professional documents to the Director of Studies at the beginning of every term for approval
  • Identify and recommend subject/course books for use in teaching of the subject
  • Participate and contribute to the development of the school master timetable
  • Prepare a personal timetable based on the master timetable of the school
  • Keep an inventory of teaching and learning materials under their custody
  • Carrying out remedial classes at regular intervals to support weak learners
  • Review and adopt new teaching methods/strategies that will lead to greater academic achievement for students
  • Marking, grading and analysis of learners performance in examinations
  • Develop high stands of competition and discipline in students through different sporting activities
Professional Qualification and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Education Degree in the relevant subject area or general degree with post graduate qualification in education
  • At least 1 year teaching experience
  • Experience in management position like head of subject, HOD will be an added advantage
