Warehouse Manager

Our client is a group of Companies that has been in operation for the last 7 years with a large customer base.  

Their main role include assisting shops and restaurant to fit displays, refrigeration systems, bakery equipment and shelves and maintain the equipment under service contract thereafter.
The group consists of 2 separate entities:

i) Design- handles all sourcing/procurement, interior design.
 

ii) Construction – Handles installation, after sales service and maintenance. 

The client is now strategically looking at the East Africa region.
 
Our client is looking for a Warehouse Manager who shall report to the Operations Director/Operations Manager
 
Roles and responsibilities
 
This is a senior position which entails understanding the business processes and operations. 
 
Specific roles include:
  • liaising with customers, suppliers transport and shipping companies;
  • planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods;
  • the efficient utilisation of warehouse space and mechanical handling equipment, ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met;
  • having a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these;
  • coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems;
  • responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone;
  • keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy;
  • planning future capacity requirements;
  • organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress;
  • motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded;
  • producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
  • briefing team leaders on a daily basis;
  • visiting customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving;
  • maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely;
  • overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
Qualification, experience and skills
  • Ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial manager registered professionally
  • Relevant degree or other relevant training from a recognized institution
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar position.
  • Strategic thinking capacity, excellent analytical, problem solving, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and lead a team
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Dedicated and self motivated
