Job Title: Technical & Parts Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall in-charge for overseeing the management of the Technical and Parts Dept day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects and custody of all home appliances repair as well as quality and speed of repair.
  • Responsible for Technician skill-set training and in-home MOT activities and compliance – must attain 100% compliance.
  • Fully responsible for managing the company’s overall RTAT index for all repairs and when applicable applying measures to correct the index
  • Overall management of all direct reporting staff and leading the Technical and Parts Dept in all matters pertaining to the efficient and smooth processing of customer repairs and parts sales.
  • Through a hands-on direct approach train technicians in every day repairs in the brown and white goods category and transfer technical knowledge through a series of practical and classroom trainings.
  • Create and manage a training manual for both brown and white goods where technicians can refer to easy to repair guides for consistency in the repair process.
  • Oversee all matters pertaining to Health and Safety and Environmental policies to ensure that safety standards as well as environmental standards are being adhered to at all levels.
  • Manage the overall Parts Dept and assume overall responsibility for asset security through physical and random accounting of parts as well as the management and approval of material issuances to technicians.
  • Be the PIC (person-in-charge) with our business partners i.e. other Brand partners and create a parts-partnership by managing the relationship and parts related matters i.e. pre-ordering parts, etc
  • Manage and handle quality issues reporting covering all products and spare parts and liaise with PM’s (product managers) on defect issues.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that the Parts Dept are complaint with MOL’s (minimum order levels) for spare parts.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction rate with in-home repairs by being the face of the company as far as the repair is concerned i.e. calling the customer and ensuring high customer satisfaction levels are attained for each repair.
  • Oversee technician readiness for ALL In-Home repairs and ensure ready support to technicians where difficult repair/customers are concerned.
  • Coordinating systematic clean-up of all repair units i.e. RTO’s, Pending Repairs, Quotations, RPRE’s, etc to ensure movement of same from the SVC.
  • Any other duties and further responsibilities as assigned by the HOD.
  • Overall management of all service functions.
Relevant Skills, Education and Experience
  • Must have 2 -4 years’ experience in a related field with consumer electronics handling an added advantage
  • Degree or higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering
  • Proven strong supervisory, technical and leadership skills via experience managing diverse technical teams and products
  • Effective time-management and logical decision making ability
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good trouble-shooting and technical (quality) report writing skills
  • Knowledge in supply chain management an added advantage
Key Performance Indicators

Quantitative:
  • RTAT on all repairs =/< 3 days (equal to or less than)
  • Repeat jobs at under 1% of monthly of repaired jobs
  • 100% compliance on ALL In-Homes MOT activity standards
  • Compliance in marinating min order levels
  • Obsolete parts management to below 5%
