Vacancy: HR Officer

Salary: KShs 40K  – 80k

Our client, a market leader in the food manufacturing industry seeks to recruit an experienced and results driven Human Resource Officer to develop and run the HR department and assist in realizing the Company’s business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up the Human Resource department.
  • Responsible for managing the Human Resource functions of the company.
  • Develop, Implement and enforce company policies and procedures as appropriate to the company needs.
  • Manage all human resource administration i.e.
  • Manage and support all personnel in the organization in relations to HR and operations matters. 
  • Responsible for HR planning and conduct the recruitment process whenever necessary; 
  • Oversee drafting of job descriptions, job adverts, short listing and interviewing of candidates
  • Conduct induction and orientation process of new employees to enhance employee engagement and achieve optimum productivity within a short duration
  • Facilitates excellent employee engagement and performance management
  • Develop and oversee all training and development activities for the various departments.
  • Assist in development of best HR practice including HR manuals
  • Enforce statutory payments like PAYE, HELB, NSSF, NHIF, DIT, & Staff contributions to respective recipients are made.
  • Implement all food Safety Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Prepare HR reports as required by the management.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Employment laws
  • Design and implement appropriate staff retention and reward policy.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration – HR specialization.
  • Holders of a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
  • Have 4+ years’ experience in human resource management
  • Working knowledge of HR or manufacturing systems would be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Able to plan, prioritize and organize functions appropriately.
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Team player who is independent who works with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and analysis skills.
