The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is the leading international conservation organization focused solely on the African continent. AWF’s mission is, together with the people of Africa, to ensure that the wildlife and wild lands of Africa will endure forever.

AWF currently seeks to hire an Executive Assistant to the AWF President to be based in its Headquarter Offices in Nairobi. The Executive Assistant will report to the AWF President and assist the President with administrative, logistical and coordination functions in support of AWF’s programs in Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the President in the day to day running of the office, managing the President’s diary, coordinating and ensuring effective communication between departments and or partners
  • Organize administrative, program and logistical support for the President, partners and meetings by liaising with the Administration team to ensure security clearance/briefings and travel arrangement/visas and other entitlements are obtained for the President and or consultants traveling
  • Manage and coordinate program related events; work closely with other departments in the management of other organization based events such as Board meetings
  • Carry out tasks related to financial management including reviewing of President’s program budgets, monitoring financial expenditures and transactions and projecting monthly expenditures for the President’s Office
  • Provide Secretarial support to the President’s directorate meetings and take responsibility for scheduling, taking minutes sharing and follow up on the program issues discussed
  • Support the President in maintaining effective communication / coordination with all major stakeholders e.g. Donors, Government Ministries, other NGOs etc
The successful candidate will;
  • Have a Bachelors degree or be a recent graduate with a Masters degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Have relevant experience consistent with responsibilities outlined above
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have excellent organizational aptitude and coordinating ability
  • Have the ability to exercise discretion with the highest respect for confidentiality
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English; fluency in French would be an added advantage
