Our Company is a leading sugar miller with a heritage spanning over forty years, situated in Western Kenya along Awasi – Nandi Hills road (about 55km from Kisumu).

We seek for suitable qualified and experienced Kenyan citizens who are dynamic, self motivated and results oriented candidates for the following positions.

Shift Engineer
Two (2) Posts
Reporting to Engineering Manager - Mechanical

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Inspection of all equipment and plant to ensure that they are in good working condition and submit daily inspection report to the engineering manager
  • Prepare annual maintenance schedules and agree with Engineering Manager- Mechanical on manning levels and materials requirements.
  • Plan and carry-out periodic mini, weekly and annual maintenance tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Monitor compliance to safe working conditions of personnel and equipment
  • Requisition for spares required for plant maintenance timely.
  • Propose annual operating and maintenance budget.
  • Run a condition monitoring system to get feedback on plant condition at all times.
  • Propose plant modifications and carry out when approved.
  • Monitor mill sanitation to reduce on loss of sucrose by microbial activity.
Minimum Qualifications/Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Membership to a relevant professional body e.g. I.E.K. and/or be registered engineer with ERB
  • Minimum six (6) years experience gained from a large manufacturing concern preferably three (3) years of which should be in the sugar industry.
  • Conversant with Sugar Mills.

  • Appreciation of basic accounting
  • Knowledge of labour laws
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of technical computer applications e.g. MS project
