Research Manager – Uganda

The Role:
  • Responsible for both accounts and individual projects within a quantitative remit, for growing business within the specialism from both existing and new clients, managing and leading the research team in terms of development, efficiency, staff continuity, capacity and research. This function takes on both a management role as well as a technical role.
  • Ensure profitability of all projects at proposal and work stage.
  • Enable Synovate Uganda to maintain the cutting edge in terms of personnel, research methodologies, knowledge and insights. This involves an influence on the strategic direction and operating plan of the business through reporting on emerging opportunities and threats, and providing a consistent and integrated view of customers through the interpretation of market and customer data.
  • Developing & strengthening relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Ensuring the team’s focus is in alignment with Synovate Global & Synovate Pan Africa strategic focus.
  • Support sales through input into research design for key clients as well as insights into results obtained from research conducted for key clients.
  • People management in the research team in terms of recruiting, training, retention and promotion, allocating and monitoring work.
The Person:

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Bachelors degree with second class honours
  • Masters degree is an advantage
  • At least 7 years experience in market research at executive level, specialism in quantitative research
  • Good command of written & spoken English, strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate insights to all levels of the business in a practical, user friendly and meaningful way
  • Ability to turn data into actionable intelligence / insights
  • Strong research relationships and networks
  • Exceptional Client Relationship Management skills
  • Sound knowledge of interpreting & analyzing information
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and SPSS and other survey analysis systems like Quantum
  • Able to work within a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work and deliver under pressure
  • Good report writing skills
  • Strong management and supervisory skills
  • Interpersonal and good organizational skills
  • Time, costing and project management skills
  • Self driven, results oriented, shows exceptional initiative and is focused on quality and profit
The Ideal candidate for these roles will be a citizen of Uganda or willing to relocate to Uganda

Social Research Manager – Tanzania

The Role:
  • Responsible for both accounts and individual projects within a Social Research remit, for growing business within the specialism from both existing and new clients, managing and leading the research team in terms of development, efficiency, staff continuity, capacity and research. This function takes on both a management role as well as a technical role.
  • Ensure profitability of all projects at proposal and work stage.
  • Enable Synovate Tanzania to maintain the cutting edge in terms of personnel, research methodologies, knowledge and insights. This involves an influence on the strategic direction and operating plan of the business through reporting on emerging opportunities and threats, and providing a consistent and integrated view of clients through the interpretation of market and customer data.
  • Developing & strengthening relationships with current and potential clients.

Research Executive – Tanzania

The Role:
  • Responsible for research projects and related production tasks under the supervision of the Senior Research Executive/Research Manager.
  • Research design: Providing input into the design of relevant research instruments
  • Project execution: Executing a field brief and supervising the process until the deliverables are received
  • Report writing
  • Quality control: reviewing and ensuring the highest quality standards of work are maintained at all times
  • Client relationship management
  • People management in the project team in terms coaching, allocating and monitoring work.
The Person:

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 1 years experience in market research
  • Excellent command of written & spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Good knowledge of market research methodologies
  • Strong numeric skills
  • Ability to work and deliver under pressure
  • Team leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent computing skills especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self driven, results oriented, shows exceptional initiative and is focused on quality and profit
The Ideal candidate for these roles will be a citizen of Tanzania or willing to relocate to Tanzania
