South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, a key player in the Sugar Industry in Kenya wishes to enhance its human capital base by filling the following senior management positions with talented and qualified Kenyan citizens:-

1. Head of Procurement

Reporting to Managing Director, Head of Procurement will be responsible for;
  • Overall planning and coordination of Procurement department.
  • Delivering, storage and timely distribution of goods and services to other user departments
  • Formulating and implementing procurement policies and procedures for effective management of procurement services in the organization.
  • Providing technical support on matters relating to procurement in accordance with statutory requirements and procedures
  • In liaison with respective user departments, prepare and implement the organization’s procurement and disposal plan in order to realize the set corporate objectives
  • Developing strategies to improve suppliers performance in terms of on–time delivery, overall quality, waste and cost reduction
  • Ensuring goods and services are ordered as per the required specifications and within the acceptable lead - time Keeping abreast with the current market trends, procurement regulations and advising management accordingly
  • Coordinating advertisement distribution and disposal committees
  • Overseeing functioning of tender and disposal committees
  • Coordinating and preparing tender documents
Person’s specification
  • Degree in business related field with at least five years relevant work experience which must have been gained at managerial level in a large and busy manufacturing firm /organization
  • Post graduate Diploma in purchasing and supplies
  • Full member of CIPS or KISM
  • In – depth understanding of Public Procurement Procedures and regulations 2006 as contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005
  • A person of high integrity , good interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT proficient
  • Age 30 years and above
2. Warehouse Manager

Reporting to Head of Procurement, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for:
  • Putting in place stores management aligned within the Sony Sugar annual procurement plans and budgets.
  • Liaise with user departments for timely service delivery.
  • Manage store/warehouse staffs and inventory control.
  • Exercise perfect knowledge of stores management, JIT KANBAN systems in supply chain stream.
  • Ensure inventory directory level within the organization.
Person’s Specification
  • Degree in business related field
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
  • Over three years relevant work experience which must have been gained at managerial level in a large and busy manufacturing concern
  • A full member of KISM/CIPS.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Regulations 2006.
  • Mature person with proven leadership qualities.
  • Aged 30 years and above.
3. Inventory Controllers

Reporting to Stores Manager, the Inventory Controllers will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring materials and spares availability by maintaining records and organizing for replenishment in order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted company operations
  • Updating, verifying and reconciling stock records
  • Introducing new stock items as per end users requirements
  • Monitor stock movements and adjust stock levels accordingly
  • Ensuring materials are racked correctly for easy location
  • Preparing stock position of critically important materials
  • Assisting stores manager on general administration and able to advise the supervisor on obsolete or slow moving items within the category
  • Liaising with user departments in establishing their needs, re-order level, minimum and maximum stocks.
Person’s Specification
  • Degree in business related field with two years experience or Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management with five years relevant experience
  • A member of KISM/CIPS.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Regulations 2006.
  • Mature person with proven leadership qualities.
  • Aged 30 years and above.
4. Company Archivist

Reporting to Legal Services Manager, the Archivist will be responsible for;
  • Providing high quality records management and archiving services and assist in development, promotion and implementation of best practice of records management
  • Conducting quarterly and on-demand records surveys in all company offices with a view to assessing where need be, recommending the improvement of the conditions under which the records are maintained.
  • Carrying out annual records appraisals in all company offices and identifying potential archives early enough so as to make arrangements for their transfer to their repository
  • Preparing records retention /disposal schedules and monitoring overall compliance with the same throughout the company
  • Managing the Organization, location, storage, retrieval, use and disposal of records/archives in the central archival repository
  • Preparing and updating finding aids to ensure speedy, efficient and precise retrieval of archival records
  • Providing job training, professional advice and technical support to company staff on records creation, use, maintenance and preservation or disposal policies and procedures.
Person’s Specification
  • Holder of Bachelors Degree in Information Science/Records Management or related field with three years relevant work experience or Diploma in Archives/Records Management with five years work experience
  • Proficient in office packages and electronic document management system
  • Aged 28 years and above
