PATH seeks to recruit various positions for its APHIAplus Western Kenya project.

APHIAplus Western Kenya is a comprehensive health service delivery project that aims to improve the health of Kenyans in the western region of the country from Jan 2011 to Dec 2015.

PATH and its partners will work closely with the Government of Kenya and a wide variety of non-government agencies to strengthen health care services, support the involvement of civil society and address the social determinants of health.

Successful applicants will be based in Kisumu or Kakamega.

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager ensures that PATH effectively meets the financial planning, monitoring and reporting needs of USAID; advises the Chief of Party, project staff, partners and subrecipients on USAID contract requirements and provide training on financial management, record keeping, operational systems and policies.

S/he will work with the Chief of Party and technical staff to develop and coordinate the annual work plan and budgeting process in compliance with USAID regulations.

Health Management Information Systems / Monitoring and Evaluation (HMIS / M&E) Advisor

The prospective candidate will provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the M&E team of the APHIAplus Western Kenya project.

S/he will oversee the development, management and application of an M&E plan for the project, offer technical assistance and help build capacity of the project stakeholders on health management information systems.

In addition, s/he will evaluate existing M&E resources to identify appropriate indicators for the project.

S/he will lead the M&E team and other project implementation teams to carry out monitoring in a timely manner, ensuring accurate data collection, advanced analysis, reporting of project activities and outputs and use of data for decision-making.

Project Administrator

The position holder will provide administrative support in the design, implementation and monitoring of project activities.

S/he will assist the Site Administrator and the Project Director in preparing and monitoring annual and project budgets, tracking grants agreements, complying with spelt out agreement policies & procedures, providing monthly expense reports and project financial monitoring tools.

In addition s/he will assist in building administrative capacity of partner organization as well as manage the project internal control procedures.

Community Senior Team Leader

S/he will provide strategic direction and leadership for community initiatives aimed at promoting healthier behaviors and creating demand for an integrated package of health services.

As a member of the senior technical team, the Community Senior Team Leader will ensure strong coordination with other project initiatives at all levels, keeping a strong focus on strengthening community units and community facility linkages.

Senior Child Survival/Malaria Advisor (CS/M Advisor)

The position holder will provide technical guidance to support the integration of child survival and malaria services with other services in the provinces, counties and districts in Western Kenya.

S/he will serve to support the project’s mentoring teams in the area of health service delivery integration and help build capacity of MOH to strengthen community and facility-based child survival and malaria prevention and care.

Collaborating with the project team, the Senior CS/M Advisor will conduct a baseline assessment to ascertain the prevailing child health and malaria situation/needs at each province, county or district and work with communities/facilities to develop action plans and to build referral linkages.
