The Kenya Ministry of Defense (KMOD) PEPFAR Program is supported by the Walter Reed Project and seeks to improve the management of HIV in the military throughout the country.

The Program Coordinating office is located at KEMRI / Walter Reed Project Offices off Mbagathi Road.

In order to continue providing the required Prevention, Care and Treatment services to Kenya Military, KMOD PEPFAR Program seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative and experienced person to fill the following position:

Accountant , HJFMRI – Nairobi

Summary Scope of Work:

The incumbent will be responsible for tracking the program’s financial transactions and ensure full compliance with guidelines designed to comply with applicable rules and regulations of OMB circulars and Federal Acquisition regulations which govern expenditures made by HJFMRI as well as In-country GAAP, tax regulations with utmost accuracy and completeness of the financial records to facilitate prompt reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
·       To maintain a sound financial system which entails entering information on accounting system: cheques, bank transfers, petty cash, bank reconciliations, advances reconciliation, reallocations to ensure up to date cash book at all times and accurate and timely monthly reports with minimal or no queries.
·       To promptly prepare and submit accurate and complete monthly financial reports as required by program managers and HJF.
·       To promptly prepare and submit monthly wire projections/cash forecasts to the Head Office (HJF).
·       To effectively and efficiently facilitate all audits.
·       Preparing adhoc reports as may be required from time to time.
·       Perform any other relevant financial and administrative duties that may be assigned.
Some of the desired skills and experience:
·       Knowledge Microsoft Office packages.
·       Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
·       Ability to perform, prioritize multiple tasks and work within short deadlines.
·       Good communication skills and Team player.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business Administration or related fields
