The College of Insurance invites qualified applicants who meet the following requirements to apply for the position of Procurement Officer.

The position will manage College of Insurance procurement function by ensuring professionalism and integrity in supply chain management is maintained.

Key responsibilities
·       Develop, implement and manage the procurement policy and procedure for College Of Insurance.
·       Ensure sourcing of the highest quality of goods and services so that College Of Insurance receives value for money at all times.
·       Prepare annual procurement plan for goods and services.
·       Prepare tender document in liaison with the user department and participate in evaluation of tender, proposals and quotation.
·       Maintain and update annually standing list of pre-qualified suppliers.
·       Processing and evaluating quotations and expediating orders.
·       Liaising with user departments to ensure timely delivery of good and services.
·       Maintain proper records to ensure adequate audit trail and prepare reports.
·       Ensure the preparation of procurement plans and compliance with Public Procurement Oversight Authority [PPOA].
·       Ensure periodic price survey of goods and services.
·       Ensure integrity with suppliers is maintained.
Qualification
·       Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Social Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
·       A Diploma in Procurement management from Chartered Insurance institute of supplies management and other recognized institution.
·       Must be well conversant with the public procurement and disposal procedure in line with public procurement act.
·       Minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar position;
·       Membership to the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies (CIPS) and the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is mandatory for this position
In addition to the qualification, the suitable candidate should possess the following skills
·       Excellent communication and negotiation skills:
·       Proficiency in both written and spoken English;
·       Computer literate with hands on experience;
·       Experience in E-procurement will be added advantage:
·       Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, service provider’s suppliers and other stakeholders.
