Job Title: Country / Region Manager (GM Level)

Main Purpose of the Job

The Country Manager will provide the strategic vision and day
today leadership for Havells in East Africa

The Country Manag
er will be a market facing leader who can engage sales team in marketing strategies for sales channels, focused on increasing revenues and maximizing the company’s business opportunities in a rapidly evolving and competitive market.

The Country Manager will hold responsibility for strengthening the existing partners, and providing Operational oversight in leading the country and company to meet revenue and profitability targets.

Main Responsibilities
 
  • Demonstrate a track record of changing and improving a sales organization by personal leadership.
  • Inspire company performance, instill the mission and goals, and set the stage for the acquisition, retention, and management of superior talent throughout the organization.
  • Lead the country team to develop, implement and execute a sound strategic plan designed to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and sales programs to facilitate accelerated growth and profitability.
  • Drive Havells strategy to generate a much greater proportion of its revenues through the distributors
  • Responsible for managing existing channel relationships but more importantly for identifying and building relationships .( Channel Management)
  • Continue the process of building a scalable Sales, Marketing, Presales, Professional Services and Support organization.
  • Establish an organization structure and team that can effectively manage country operations and that is appropriate given the size and revenue base of the company.
  • Take direct and handson responsibility of sales programs in order to deliver ambitious revenue and profit targets as agreed, while ensuring that a stable infrastructure is created to service the business as it grows.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

This role requires a passionate and rigorous sales leader who will bring significant experience and credibility to the team, and will be regarded by the employees and the marketplace as an immediate “win” for the company.

The role needs an outstanding executive who will lead the area sales efforts to enable the company to enjoy continued growth and success, and build on the company's pool of leadership potential as it pursues pre
eminence in its chosen markets worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have substantial
experience leading a Electrical/Engineering/Manufacturing/ Lighting company through a period of change and successful and rapid growth.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and planning skills. She /He must be highly motivated, goal
oriented, resilient and pragmatic, with the urge to outperform.

Successful track record as a top
line oriented general manager with full P&L responsibility gained in a quarterly earnings.

Strong track record of hiring, retai
ning and motivating highly talented people.

10
20 years Preferably of East African or African Terrain.
