Based in Mombasa and Juba, a well established logistics service provider in Kenya and Southern Sudan is seeking to fill the following vacant positions to be based at Mombasa.

Its core business is in clearing of goods from the port of Mombasa and transporting to their destinations.

Job: General Manager

Reporting to the board of directors, the holder of this position will be responsible for the overall management of the company.

The key responsibilities include:
 
  • Secretary to the Board.
  • Providing strategic direction of the business.
  • Ensuring efficient management of company resources.
  • Ensuring business development and growth.
  • Responsible for maintenance of business relationships
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements
Person Specifications
  • Holder of Bachelors degree in business administration, Logistics, or any other relevant fields.
  • MBA is an added advantage
  • Five years experience in logistics industry, two of which must be in senior management.
  • High levels of integrity and demonstrated commitment to work ethic.
Job: Senior Accountant

Reporting to the General Manager, the holder of the position will be responsible for the overall
management of the company finances.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage the financial accounting, reporting systems, budget and monitoring of a company
  • Prepare accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annually).
  • Liaison with auditors for ensuring efficient annual monitoring.
  • Responsible for staff development in finance division.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing annual plans
  • Efficient management of working capital.
Person Specifications
  • Holder of Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
  • CPA or ACCA part II
  • Two years experience in a busy organization.
  • Experience in current financial systems (ERP)
Job: Transport Supervisor

Reporting to the General Manager, the holder of the position will be responsible for fleet management.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the operation of vehicle maintenance and repair programs.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the fleet transit system.
  • Reviews purchase requests for new and replacement vehicles.
  • Prepares short and long range plans for transit system operation including transit routing and scheduling.
  • Plans and administers a preventive maintenance and vehicular replacement program for own vehicles.
  • Receives and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.
  • Prepares cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.
Person Specifications
  • Holder of higher diploma in Automotive / Mechanical engineering.
  • Thorough knowledge of transit system management and operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of vehicular maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of the principles of organization and administration.
