National Water Conservation & Pipeline Corporation (NWCPC) was established under the State Corporations Act, Chapter 446 of the Laws of Kenya vide Legal Notice 270 of 24th June, 1988.

Following the enactment of the Water Act (2002), the Corporation’s roles changed and it assumed the following new mandate:-

- To develop state schemes and spearhead dam construction for water supplies, flood control and other multi-purpose use, land drainage and construction of dykes.

- To carry out ground water recharge using flood water and drilling of boreholes on behalf of the government.

- To develop new, retain existing and expand bulk water supply to Water Services Boards and other service providers.

The Corporation is seeking to recruit suitable, self driven, result oriented, highly motivated and qualified personnel to fill the following vacant positions on permanent and pensionable basis to be stationed in Nairobi.

Job title: Chief Internal Auditor

Grade: NWC 10

Position Vacant: 1

Minimum Requirement
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting option)
  • CPA (K)
  • Masters degree in Finance
  • Must be registered with ICPAK
  • 9 years, experience 3 of them at a senior level
  • Membership to IIA is an added advantage
  • Computer proficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees review and development of audit techniques and procedures.
  • Ensures comprehensive audit programmes are undertaken.
  • Approves audit programmes.
  • Issues audit report queries and observations to the Managing Director.
  • Supervises, guides, trains and develops staff in the Unit.
Job title: Chief ICT Officer

Grade: NWC 10

Position Vacant: 1

Minimum Requirement
  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Physics and
  • Diploma in ICT
  • OR Bachelors degree in ICT.
  • OR Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering
  • A Masters Degree in Computer Science OR in any other ICT related discipline from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) management
  • 9 years, 3 of them as principal ICT Officer
Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversees formulation, implementation and coordination of ICT policies, strategies and programmes in the organisation.
  • Ensures that the unit keeps abreast with emerging ICT issues.
  • Ensures timely implementation of ICT standards in line with the needs of the organisation.
  • Ensures timely implementation and effective maintenance of ICT systems.
  • Oversees the running of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Oversees preparation of ICT status reports and ensures professional standards and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Recommends to management purchase / replacement of ICT hardware / software.
  • Writes the appropriate ICT reports to management.
  • Guides and develops staff working in the Division.
Job title: Senior Engineer

Grade: NWC 9

Position Vacant: 1

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering/Water Irrigation from recognized Institution.
  • Registered with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
  • 6 years experience 3 years of them as Engineer I or its equivalent
  • 3 years experience in Contract Management.
  • Computer proficiency.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Assists in formulation of long and short term policies and programmes for water projects and conservation.
  • Manages design and construction of water projects and conservation systems.
  • Researches into standardization of water projects and conservation systems in any of the engineering disciplines mentioned above.
  • Monitors physical and financial progress of water projects and conservation programmes.
  • Supervises training and development of junior engineers and technicians.
  • Contract management and supervision of Water Projects
