The Kenya Episcopal Conference has recently been awarded a grant by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for HIV & AIDS Care and Treatment in seven faith-based hospitals within Nyanza Province.

The KEC advertises for the position of Strategic Information Advisor, Strategic Information Associate and Program Assistant to serve this program.

The program administration is based in Nairobi with select officers based in Nyanza Province.

Strategic Information Advisor

Location: Nairobi with frequent travel to Nyanza Province

Job purpose: Strategic Information Oversight and Management

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct multi-site analysis of Faith based affiliated health facilities data on key reports required by stakeholders in Nyanza province
  • Compile and submit the monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports
  • Represent Monitoring and Evaluation aspects of the program at Government, Donors, NGO’s and other working group meetings
  • Ensure that faith based affiliated health facilities have the equipment, staff, training and systems in place to comply with all donor and national health information requirements and to meet the needs of all program patients, staff and facilities
  • Improve the ways in which faith based affiliated health facilities collect, manage and use data so that program and patient monitoring is performed at increasingly comprehensive levels and gaps in services are addressed earlier and more effectively
Professional qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
  • Masters in Information Technology or a related field
  • 5 years experience in Strategic Information and Monitoring and Evaluation preferably with a USG funded program
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Strategic Information Associate

Location: Nyanza Province

Job purpose: Management of collection and reporting of Information

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to faith based hospitals to increase their capacity to manage and analyze data and exchange/share information among themselves.
  • Provide on going support on patient monitoring and management system to the faith based hospitals
  • Design, implement, analyze and prepare monthly and quarterly program reports
  • Document indicators and solutions to contribute to the sharing of best practice.
Professional qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
  • 3 years experience in Strategic Information and Monitoring and Evaluation preferably with a USG funded program
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent programming and IT troubleshooting skills
Personal Attributes
  • A person of Integrity, self driven, innovative, resilient, results and detail oriented.
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
Program Assistant

Location: Nairobi with limited travel to Nyanza Province

Job purpose: To manage the administrative functions and provide logistical support

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative, operational and logistical support for the program and ensuring that resources are readily available.
  • Prepare supplies and equipment requisitions and ensuring that program supplies, utilities/ facilities are available in adequate supply, well utilized, in usable condition and serviceable.
  • Coordinate travel requests and schedules for program staff and facilitate logistical arrangements.
  • Management of program records and ensuring proper system for filing and retrieval while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with program administration and KEC Administration.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration
  • Three years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in administration of donor funded projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Is a person of attested integrity, with a high degree of stewardship of resources
  • Is able to work under little supervision
  • Is able to serve people of all types of temperament
  • Innovative, respectful and well organized with excellent planning, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Keen on detail and documentation.
