Islamic relief is currently running Programmes in several sectors that include Health & Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Livelihoods Support and Child Welfare.

IR also implements seasonal Food Security Programmes including the Ramadan Food Distribution and Qurbani.

Operation Support Manager

Salary - KES 200,000 Gross

Degree Specialized in procurement, with
  • Professional Qualification Institute with Purchase and Supplies (CIPS)
  • With over 5 years previous experience in ECHO, EC, USAID and UN Funded Projects
Key Responsibilities
  • Smooth Running of IR Kenya Operation in the field in terms of Logistics, procurement, asset management, fleet management, HR &ICT, Facilities management, security Coordination.
  • Ensure overall provision of and adherence to IR Kenya policies, procedures, guidelines, systems and standard practices for Logistics, Administration, ICT and human resourcing (HR).
  • Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of staff training and capacity building programs
  • Oversee the staff awareness, implementation, field interpretation/approved customization and maintenance of IR Kenya Logistics, Administration, ICT and HR policies, procedures, guidelines and systems with proper tracking, documentation.
  • Ensure timely review and updating of standardized contracts/agreements between IR Kenya and employees, supplier(s) and implementing partners to meet the requirements of IR Kenya and other funding partners.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely flow of information within and among departments in relation to issues of procurement/logistics, HR, ICT and administration
  • Ensure that procurement is carried out maintaining adequate documentary evidence as required by individual donor and IR Kenya Logistic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that proper asset storages are set up and organized according to the accepted logistic requirements.
  • Ensure that IR Kenya security procedures and plans are in place and implemented accordingly. These procedures should also be developed and periodically updated as required.

  • Wide hands-on general knowledge on Operational Support Functions
  • Excellent ability to relate strategically and the essential order of immediate action priorities
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Personally efficient and organized with excellent multitasking skills
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude with cautious respect for rules and proper procedure
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Excellent in creative problem solving skills
  • Able to work unusual hours under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to remote field operation area in North-Eastern Kenya.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and basic ICT.
