Team Leader Tea Plucking / Harvesting

Reporting to the Divisional Manager/Divisional Assistant/Field Assistant, the incumbent will be fully responsible and accountable for ensuring that plucking/harvesting of tea is done to the required agronomic standards as defined in the organization’s Agricultural manual.

Main Accountabilities
  • Carry out supervision of all hand plucking/mechanical harvesting operations in the field.
  • Ensure raw material quality as per Unilever raw material/tea quality specifications.
  • Ensure that the area under supervision is plucked or harvested to highest agronomic standards & productivity improvement.
  • Ensure principles & practices of plucking/harvesting operations are deeply entrenched in the plucking/harvesting team.
  • Support field management to ensure that the financial expenditure is in line with the budget.
  • Support implementation of company welfare & social programs in area under control.
  • Ensure compliance to the company Safety, Health and Environment and other policies.
  • Other responsibilities as described in the role profile
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Education & Extension, Agricultural Engineering, HR, Business Management or any other related field.
  • KCSE C plain
  • Relevant experience will be an added advantage.

Canter Lorry Green Leaf Transport Driver

Reporting to the Estate Manager, the incumbent will be fully responsible and accountable for the following;
  • Ensuring that the tea is transported from the estate to the assigned factories in a fresh state.
  • Transporting other company goods as per the estate manager’s instructions
  • Responding to any emergency situation as directed by estate management
  • Ensuring that the vehicle he/she is driving is in good serviceable condition as per the Company policies
  • Ensuring the vehicle he/she is driving is in a good serviceable condition.
  • Carrying out pre-driving checks/inspections
  • Ensuring compliance with Unilever Safe Travel policies
  • Accounting for fuel usage for the vehicle
  • Initiating requisitions for vehicle repairs/maintenance
  • Other responsibilities as described in the role profile.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Clean valid driving License.
  • Certificate of good conduct.
  • Experience of driving canter Lorries.
  • Kenya National Youth Service driving training will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to read, write & communicate in both English & Swahili is desirable.
