Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya (WOFAK) is  a National Non-Governmental Organization that strives to contribute significantly to national efforts aimed at prevention and to provide comprehensive care and support to women and children living with and affected by HIV and AIDS  to enable them lead more wholesome lives.

WOFAK is seeking applications to fill the following Kenyan Jobs positions:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer 

(1 Post)             

Location: Mombasa

Job Purpose/Summary 

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the M & E Officer will serve as a team member and responsible to provide M&E technical expertise and support implementation of program/project activities in the region.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strengthening existing M&E systems in the project, program and WOFAK Mombasa Office.
  • Assist in the coordination of implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities in the project.
  • Ensure appropriate data collection tools and systems are in place and collect required data for performance, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Take lead role in data capturing, reporting and QA/QC using approved monitoring tools to track project indicators.
  • Provide technical input in the review of reports and participate in field assessments.
  • Take lead in organizing and facilitating quarterly, semi-annual and annual project review meetings with program staff and partners and giving feedback on M&E activities.
  • Support project implementation team to prepare presentations, document and disseminate lessons learnt and best practices.
  • Provide support supervision in collaboration with the CHEWs to the CHWs and volunteers.
  • Train and offer support supervision to Field officers.
  • Ensure Continuous quality improvement (CQI) in the community level interventions.
  • Participate in concept note and proposal development for fund raising.
  • Write technical/performance reports and ensure performance targets are met.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Statistics, Public health, Social Sciences or its equivalent. 
  • Professional training in M&E and at least two (2) years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in implementing HCBC program will be an added advantage. 
  • Understanding and proven Knowledge of working with Government Ministries and agencies.(MOPHS,MOMS,NACC etc)
  • Must have hands on experience in statistical analysis packages - STATA; SPSS, Epi info. Skills in Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC).

Field Officer – HCBC Program 

(1 Post)                            

Location: Mombasa

Job Purpose/Summary 

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Field Officer will serve as a team member and responsible to support and ensure implementation of Service Delivery Areas (Interventions) under the GF RD 10 HCBC program.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Field officer will support the implementation of the GF RD 10 HCBC activities in Mombasa county.
  • Undertake community mobilization, education and sensitization sessions, and dissemination of BCC/PWP information and materials
  • Organize and facilitate planned capacity building trainings and forums for CHW,PLHIV and CORPS.
  • Strengthen referral systems between clinical service providers (health facilities) and other HCBC care and support service providers through the community health units
  • In collaboration with CHEWS actively monitor and supervise CHWS and CORPS performance and compliance to required standards
  • Ensure conduction of monthly meetings of CHW’s and other CORPS in the respective sites and ensure timely submission of there report
  • Represent the organization in stakeholder’s meetings/forums.
  • Support the M and E officer/department to collate relevant data from the health facilities and from the community (CHWs) and be able to utilize it and conduct routine data quality check.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly and adhoc project reports and submit them on a timely basis to the Project Coordinator and M & E Officer.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator or WOFAK management from time to time.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Degree in social sciences or Diploma in Community Development, Social Work from a recognized institution with a minimum 
  • 2 years proven working experience in community work.
  • Experience in implementing HCBC program will be an added advantage. 
  • Understanding and proven Knowledge of working with Government Ministries and agencies.(MOPHS,MOMS,NACC etc)
  • Computer literacy is mandatory.
