Request for Proposal: Consultancy Services For Job Evaluation

The Nairobi Hospital a leading health care institution in the region wishes to conduct a comprehensive job evaluation in line with its commitment to continual improvement and best practice.

We therefore invite proposals from firms with a proven track record in carrying out effective job evaluation exercises.

I) Objectives:

• Develop a framework that will determine the relative value of individual jobs through a fair and professional assessment process.
• Assess existing job descriptions against actual roles carried out.
• Review the classification of jobs including the grading and salary structures.
• Develop a framework to support our expansion plan.
• Provide a basis for external benchmarking within industry.

II) Deliverables:

• As-is report and job evaluation methodology.
• Detailed activity plan.
• Effective training for the job evaluation committee.
• Up to date job profiles for each job family.
• An equitable and competitive grading and salary structure.
• Comprehensive final report.
• Other useful recommendations.

III) Submission of Proposal

Technical Proposal:

This should include the following details:-

• Registered name and address.
• Profile of firm.
• Qualifications and experience (including specific experience in conducting job evaluation) of individual consultants of the firm.
• Proposed methodology.
• Proposed work plan.
• List of organisations for which the firm has carried out job evaluation over the last 5 years including key contact details.

Copies of Documents to Be Attached

• Certificate of Incorporation.
• VAT certificate.
• PIN certificate.
• KRA Tax compliance certificate.
•  Local government and legal operational licenses.
• CVs of consultants who would be part of the job evaluation team.

Financial Proposal:

The financial proposal should be adequately detailed to enable evaluation.

Submissions in a sealed envelope clearly marked Request for Proposals: Consultancy Services for
Job Evaluation Ref: TNH/11/12/RFP/CS/JE should be deposited in the Tender Box at the entrance of the
Procurement & Stores Department no later than 12 noon on 4th December 2012 at 10 a.m. 

Bids will be opened at 12 noon in the Hospital’s Old Boardroom and bidders may be present at the opening.
