Head of Strategy and Business Development
 
The Kenya Institute of Management is a membership based non-profit making professional management organization committed to the promotion of excellence and integrity in the practice of management. 

In its mission to steer and champion excellence, integrity and competitiveness in individuals and organizations, the Institute is seeking to recruit a talented, visionary and dynamic individual to fill the key position of Head of Strategy and Business Development.
 
Reporting to the CEO/Executive Director, this position will provide leadership, direction and growth to the Institute’s Strategic Business Units (SBUs) in line with the mission, vision and strategic plan of the Institute.
 
The key responsibilities will include:
  • Formulating policies and strategies to ensure the growth and development of the Institute’s SBUs;
  • Overseeing the realization of business goals and budgets of SBUs while establishing KIM as a continental driver of institutional excellence;
  • Providing leadership on strategic partnerships and collaborations with other organizations in line with the Institute’s strategic plan and business objectives;
  • Overseeing the revamping and launching of competitive market driven products to ensure growth of recognizable brands;
  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating the business operating environment of the Institute’s SBUs and provide leadership on strategic moves and new business development fronts for sustainable competitive advantage of the SBUs; and
  • Providing guidance on quality standards and assurance in SBUs.
Qualifications, skills and experience
  • Master of Business Administration or Strategic Management from a recognized University;
  • Bachelors degree in a business related field;
  • Relevant professional qualification in Management from a recognized institution;
  • Minimum of seven years proven experience in strategy, business development and client relationship management, two of which must be in a senior management roles; and
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work harmoniously in an organization with diverse business operations.
