The Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest), whose mandate is to promote and facilitate both Domestic and Foreign investments in Kenya, seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following position:-

Job Title: Manager, Internal Audit
 
Reports to: Board of Directors
 
Division / Section / Unit: Internal Audit
 
Responsible for:    
  • Internal Audit Officer
  • Temporal Staff
  • Interns
Location: Head Office Nairobi
 
Job Purpose: To develop and ensure that internal control systems are working effectively and are adhered to.
 
Roles and Responsibilities    
  • Verifying all payments and receipts;
  • Reviewing and implementing internal controls;
  • Ensuring compliance with laid down staff rules and regulations;
  • Preparing an Audit Charter Plan and carrying out audits as per the plan;
  • Taking minutes of the Board’s Audit & Governance Committee and coordinating the implementation of resolutions;
  • Safeguarding the Authority’s assets;
  • Ensuring that proper books of accounts are kept;
  • Verifying goods and services provided to ensure compliance to the agreed specification;
  • Ensuring compliance to Government rules, regulations and procedures;
  • Ensuring compliance of financial statements to a Financial Reporting Framework (IAS);
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Specification:
 
Education and Qualifications:   
  • A minimum of a Masters Degree from an accredited University with an emphasis in Commerce, Economics, Management or Business Administration or in a related field.
  • CPA (K), ACCA.
Skills and Experience:    
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in auditing and accounting in a senior position;
  • Knowledge of local and international investment matters;
  • Knowledge of Government and Donor financial and  Procurement regulations and procedures;
  • Knowledge of International Accounting and Audit Standards;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Computer literacy; and
  • Team player.
Key Performance Indicators   
  • Enhanced service delivery.
  • Reduction of audit queries.
  • Timely and regular minutes and papers for the Board Audit & Governance. Committee.
  • Feedback from Board Committee.
