Expression of Interest (EoI) for the Development of a County Cultural Exhibition, Information and Commercial Centre in Voi

Taita Taveta County is one of the 47 counties established by the Constitution of Kenya 2010. 

It is located on south western part of the country and boarders Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Kitui,  Makueni and Kajiado Counties as well as the Republic of Tanzania. 

Taita Taveta County has a land mass of 17,000 km2 and hosts the Kenya's largest and world renowned wildlife conservation areas known as Tsavo East and West national parks. 

Additionally, the county is endowed with both gemstones and industrial mineral deposits as well rangelands suitable for both beef and dairy animal husbandry.

The Taita-Taveta County Government wishes to construct a multi-purpose development centre in Voi to support investment and as marketing channel. 

The facility will be used to show case the history and culture of the people of Taita-Taveta. 

The center will also be used to provide information on:

• Tourism attraction sites including homestay tourism.
• Investment opportunities in mining both gemstone and industrial minerals
• Livestock production and marketing (including fish and poultry)
• Marketing of Agriculture produce.

As the facility is supposed to be a standalone profit centre, space will be rented out for conferencing,
retailing and banking services to provide the revenue streams to run the facility.
 

Additionally, the centre will be the take off and landing for the Air balloon Safaris.
 

The County Government therefore calls for expression of interest from experienced consortia with
capability to:

• Mobilize Financial resources for financing the development
• Carry out architectural design, engineering and construction
• Operate the facility for an agreed period of time and thereafter transfer the asset to the Government of Taita Taveta County.
