Finance Officer
 
The successful candidate will effectively support the Finance Lead (FL) in providing financial and administrative assistance in ensuring effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. 
 
The Job:
 
Responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services
 
Processing and monitoring payments and expenditures 
 
Preparing and monitoring the payroll system. 
 
Responsible for following all accounts receivable and ensuring on time payment
 
Responsible for ensuring all vendors and suppliers are paid as per company accounting policies and time lines
 

Assist the FL in providing timely and accurate financial information to the company Management 
 
Assist the FL in providing heads of department and other relevant managers with appropriate financial information for decision making and tracking expenditure;
 
Assist the FL in overseeing the Company is in line with all government and internal statutory reductions and taxes;

Responsibilities
  • Perform the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions
  • Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry
  • Data enter invoices for payment
  • Process backup reports after data entry
  • Manage the weekly cheque run
  • Record all cheques
  • Prepare vendor cheques for mailing
  • List all vendor cheques in the log book
  • Prepare manual cheques as and when required
  • Maintain listing of accounts payable
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers
  • Print and distribute monthly financial reports
  • Perform other related duties as required
Skills & Experiences
  • Bachelors Degree preferably Commerce, Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (K)
  • Need to be young enough to grow with the organization
  • Working knowledge of Financial Reporting
  • Computer literate in Ms Office with demonstrated skills in accounting packages
  • Previous experience of min. 2 years
  • Demonstrated high level of confidentiality
  • Focused and organized individual
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership skills/ roles
