Office of the Controller of Budget

The Office of the Controller of Budget is an independent Office established under Article 228 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. 

Its core mandate is to oversee implementation of budgets of the National and County governments, approve withdrawals from the Consolidated Fund (Article 206), County Revenue Fund (Article 207), and, Equalisation Fund (Article 204); and report to the National Assembly and the Senate.
 
Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the Office seeks to recruit highly qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant positions.

Position: Communications Officer 

Ref: COB – CO/COB 7

Reporting to Chief Manager PR & Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing media content and organizations calendar of events facilitating information exchange with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops media content and the organization’s calendar of events
  • Reviews and updates media content
  • Produces creative communication materials for use in media campaigns.
  • Facilitates information exchange with all stakeholders
  • Prepares periodic corporate affairs reports
  • Conducts civic education
  • Any other relevant duties assigned by Chief Manager PR & Communications
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information science, Business Administration, Social sciences or its equivalent from a recognized university
  • Must be well versed with the Constitution of Kenya
  • Must have at least 2 years relevant work experience

Terms and Conditions of Service: The successful candidates for the above positions will be offered a competitive remuneration package and will be appointed on a three (3) years contract term renewable on satisfactory performance.
