Vacancy: Finance Officer

Tenwek High School is a three-streamed Extra County Public School within Bomet County.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the above vacancy.

The Candidate should meet the requirements of chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya.

The Job: Reporting to the School Principal, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring effective management of the school finances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise members of the Non-Teaching staff, including payroll administration.
  • Be familiar with and maintain all school accounting records according to GAAP.
  • In liaison with the Principal, prepare annual budget using laid down guidelines
  • Ensure school information management system is running and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate procurement under the guidance of school management.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of CPA (final), with BCOM (accounting option) serving as an added advantage
  • Experience with accounting procedures in an educational institution for at least five (5) years.
  • Computer literate and conversant with the use of ICT in Financial Management.
  • Excellent communications and supervisory skills.
