The Karen Hospital is a multi specialty hospital with state of the art technology providing health care services and referral facility for Africa. 

The Karen Hospital provides affordable quality healthcare for both inpatient and outpatient clients at the main hospital in Karen, Nairobi and outpatient services in satellite medical facilities in various counties.

In order to support its ambitious growth strategy that is currently being implemented, The Karen Hospital invites applications for the following positions:

Medical Superintendent
The Medical Superintendent will be expected to perform the following:
  • Manage the Accident and Emergency Department ensuring compliance to global standards.
  • Ensure practices that guarantee excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure strict compliance to the Medical practitioners & Dentists board standards.
  • Ensure high performance of the hospitals Medical Advisory Board.
  • Be responsible for Medical legal issues if and when they arise.
  • Ensure that clinical standards are maintained
Qualifications
  • A Post graduate degree in Medicine from a reputable university
  • Post graduate degree or diploma in management
  • At least 4 years experience in similar or related position
  • Be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
  • Have capacity to multitask within strict timelines
Cardiac Perfusionist

The Cardiac Perfusionist will work under the direction of surgeons and anesthetists, to provide short term cardiopulmonary support during open heart surgical procedures, long term support via centrifugal ventricular pumps on cardiac or pulmonary compromised patients (adults and pediatric).

Qualifications
  • A certificate in cardiac perfusion from an accredited institution and a valid certificate ¡n Basic Life Support (BLS) with at least two year relevant experience. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with ACLS
  • Must have performed at least seventy-five clinical perfusions during training and have received a letter of satisfactory clinical competency from relevant certified school.
  • Certified perfusionists must recertify each year by meeting requirements for clinical activity and continuing education.
Chief Security Officer
The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for security matters at the Karen Hospital facilities, develop and enforce security policies to ensure a safe environment for employees and clients.

Qualifications
  • A degree in criminology and security management certification will be an added advantage. 
  • A diploma backed by strong relevant technical experience will also be considered.
  • Basic paramilitary training at national youth service
  • At least 5 years of working experience in similar or related field
  • Able to work under minimum supervision
  • Current certificate of good conduct is mandatory
  • Strong analytical, administrative and conceptual skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, pro-active and a good team-player.
Anaethetist

The Anaethetist will be expected to perform the following:
  • To provide high quality care to hospital patients.
  • To ensure that equipment used is in good condition and safe for use
  • To guide and ensure that self and all staff comply with all regulations contained in the Hospital policies and protocols
  • To develop and maintain own professional competence and knowledge by keeping abreast of new developments, concepts, work methods etc. both clinical and professional.
  • To attend clinical meetings and relevant hospital committees as may be required from time to time.
  • To lead the emergency response team as and when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university.
  • A Master of Medicine or equivalent in Anaesthesia from a recognized university
  • Current registration and practice licence issued by Medical practitioners and Dentist board.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
