Human Resources Manager

Royal Media Services Limited is seeking to recruit a highly qualified person for the above position. 


The jobholder will provide support to the Human Resources Director in strategic and overall guidance on all human resource issues in the Company and ensure proper staff management and talent management for the achievement of company goals. 

They shall be involved in cross cutting human resource issues and be hands on in the implementation of the human resources strategy.

The Human Resources Manager’s role will include the following:
  • Maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintaining human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Ensuring proper placement of staff and support in the boarding process.
  • Assisting the HR Director in managing employee benefits programs and informing employees on such benefits.
  • Assisting the HR Director in maintaining management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Assist in grievance handling and disciplinary procedures.
  • Advising staff on work related processes including leave management, staff medicals, and other staff welfare issues.
  • Providing personal advice and counseling services to staff as per need.
  • Provide support in developing the HR work plan and budget and ensure adherence to set targets.
  • Ensure that employee statutory returns are submitted in time.
  • Spearhead the data capture in the Human Resource Information System and ensure all staff records are captured in the system and all documents vetted and filed.
  • In charge of leave management in the company.
  • Provide support in the management of change process in the organisation.
Required personal attributes;
  • The ideal candidate must have a clear understanding of HR operations.
  • An appreciation of HR practices, processes and controls.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in handling and determining HR related issues.
  • Ability to empower and motivate staff through coaching and counselling by emphasizing accountability and result oriented management rather than direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate professional approach and appearance including enthusiasm, drive, commitment, honesty, trust and loyalty
  • Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving HR trends through continuing professional education, especially in the area of staff management
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality while handling sensitive HR issues.
  • Ability to exercise justice and fairness.
Academic and professional Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or Social Sciences from a recognized University.
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.
  • MBA in a relevant field will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a large and busy organization ,at least 3 years in  management
