Vacancy: Regional Manager

Ref: RM/LVCT/06/2014
 
Reporting To: Director of Services
 
Location: Kisumu

Job Purpose: Provide leadership for the organization in Western region covering all relevant counties and ensuring operational alignment to LVCT Health’s mission, vision and strategy. 

The incumbent will be responsible for line management of all LVCT Health staff who work in the region and the proper resources utilized in delivery of programs at the region.
 
This is a senior management position and the job holder will also be a member of the core management team (CMT) in LVCT Health.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate regional team in delivering HIV prevention, HTC, care and treatment and SRH programs and research targeting general population, youth and key populations (MSM, SW)
  • Responsible for setting goals and objectives, planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of regional programmes and research in line with LVCT Health’s vision and strategy, outlining expected results and tracking performance
  • Create and maintain external relationships while continuously identifying and ensuring utilization of opportunities for visibility and growth of LVCT Health and its programmes at county and national level
  • Provide liaison support and maintain regular communication and correspondence between the LVCT health and Health Management teams at county, district and facility level while supporting implementation of county plans and priorities.
  • Provide leadership, continuous mentorship, capacity building and line supervision for all coordinators and staff within the region.
  • Responsible for regional level sub-partner support, supervision and oversight with functional relations with Capacity Development
  • Planning, development and accountability for technical, financial and human resources in line with LVCT health’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for policy advocacy and technical support at county level
  • Participate and contribute to formulation and review of organizational policies, systems, structures and priorities and ensure their implementation and adherence across the region.
  • Participate in and contribute to CMT and management meetings and ensure implementation and follow up of resolutions while adhering to the CMT code of conduct
  • Follow up on action plans from program and other reviews by LVCT Health management, donors or MOH.
  • Ensure timely and accurate narrative and financial reporting to government and donors as per contractual obligations and LVCT management as required.
  • Provide leadership in documentation, dissemination and utilization of LVCT Health’s work at the regional level

Requirements
  • A Medical doctor with MPH, MBA, MA or other suitable qualification
  • Over 5 years managerial experience dealing in HIV, SRH programs
  • Experience in conducting research and supervising research teams
  • A Strategic thinker, good at identifying opportunities, establishing and maintaining partnerships/relationships
  • Good computer usage skills
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal, leadership and supervision skills
