Job Purpose:- The objective of this role is to execute the strategic goals for organization in East Africa as agreed by the Board and to ensure smooth day to day operations of the organization. 

Key Responsibilities


Leadership
  • Be the organization’s Ambassador. Live the company’s  Values
  • Assist in organizing and participate in the annual Strategy Summit with the organization’s Board Members
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating monthly Board Meetings and conference calls
  • Be the first port of call for all organization’s related queries both from members and prospects
  • Serve as the “organization’s Historian,” providing continuity during board transitions
President
  • Work with the President and understand the overall Organization Strategy and annual Strategic plan
  • Participate in the Annual Strategic Summit along with other board members and understand the MAP (Measurable Accountable Plan) and work closely with President and coordinate with other board members in assisting them in achieving those set goals
  • Prepare an Annual plan with all key milestones in advance and budget them and diarize them and prepare towards achieving those
  • Assist the President in handling the organization’s operations and follow-ups
  • Assist the President in his interactions with the organization’s  Regional Council members, Regional Presidents and other Global Staff
Membership
  • Promote healthy company growth by assisting the Membership chair in the addition of quality new members who add value to the organization
  • Actively seeking out new member referrals from current members, your network and community
  • Be the “face” of the Organization in your local area for prospective members
  • Follow the qualifying plan to ensure prospects meet organization’s Global and local requirements
  • Organize recruitment events, such as the Test Drive events, on a regular basis to bring new members into the organization on a batch or class basis
  • Input applications for new members and track and follow up on payment
  • Maintain and track prospect lists
  • Coordinate with Forum Chair to ensure Forum & Moderator Training, and LaunchPad forums are all aligned with new member intake, so that there are always a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 10 members joining in any city at a time. If necessary keep prospects on hold until these numbers are reached
  • Update member information on the organization’s network.
  • Work with the Membership Chair to follow up with members for their timely annual renewal
  • Leverage the entire organization, especially tenured members and the organization board, to make new members feel welcomed and find immediate value in the organization.
Learning
  • Work with the Learning Chair to map out a thoughtful learning calendar
  • Plan monthly Learning Events following the process set out by the Learning Chair.
Forum
  • Assist the Forum Chair in building vitality and Forum health in the organization
  • Maintain up to date statistics on Forum health, Forum meetings, Forum placement list
  • Update Member & Spouse Conflict Matrix every time new members join, or otherwise once a year
  • Ensure 90% of members are Forum-trained within 90 days of joining
  • Ensure new members are placed in a LaunchPad or permanent forum within 90 days
  • Ensure 100% of current Forum Moderators are Moderator-trained & 90% of Moderator-Elects are Moderator-trained
  • Work with Forum Chair to organize quarterly Moderator Summit meetings
  • Encourage spouses to join spouse forums, and assist in arranging Spouse LaunchPad Forums, as well as assisting Spouse Forums to get started by providing templates & best practices.
Integration
  • Make sure each new member gets engaged through attending chapter events, using the organization’s benefits, getting placed quickly in a Forum
  • Work with Integration Chair & Member/Spouse Forum Moderators to encourage members & their families to achieve Key Integration Objectives
  • Forging deeper relationships with organization members & their families in their own Forum and also with other Forums & entire organization
  • Active event participation at organization, Regional & Global level by attending & sharing organization’s related experiences
  • Volunteering & committing time and effort to be on the Path to Leadership within the organization by taking on various leadership roles within Forum (My organization Forums & global Forums), organization, Regional and Global levels to drive the Chapter Strategy forward
  • Getting Value from all that organization’s Global Network has to offer
  • Work with Board Chairs to ensure high membership renewal rates & high prospect referrals to achieve growth of organization membership through diverse & quality members
  • Support Members & Moderators individually and through forums to ensure that organization’s requirements such as organization Access Profiles, All Member Survey, Forum Health Check, etc… are completed on a timely basis to meet RockStar Checklist Criteria
Finance
  • Work with the Finance chair to develop the annual budget
  • Creating financials and advising the organization board on their financial position
  • Managing cash flows (e.g., paying bills, collecting revenue)
  • Raising red flags on any upcoming payments and planning them pro-actively
  • Filing tax documents and other compliance related activities
  • Assessing and acquiring insurance
  • Bringing to the attention of Board members requirements to assess bylaws and updating as necessary
  • Stay budget-conscious when planning events
  • Make bank deposits and maintain control of petty cash
  • Help maintain and organize chapter expenses
  • Work with organization President and Finance Chair to find ways of getting funds from Global organization such as covering training costs, subsidize travel costs, provide one-off cash amounts for meeting certain milestones such as RockStar Checklist, etc.,
Strategic Alliances
  • Identify and approach new potential partners
  • Negotiate cash and in-kind partnerships for your organization
  • Incorporate partners into organization events
  • Manage and nurture existing relationships with organization partners
  • Promote and support Global and regional partner programs
  • Work with the Strategic Alliances, Learning and Communications Chairs to successfully generate income through selling learning events externally
Marketing and Communications
  • Work with the Communications Chair to understand the Communications strategy and preferences for the organization
  • Understand the organization Style Guide and ensure that all the internal and external communications from the organization follow those guidelines
  • Deliver regular updates to organization’s members and provide feedback to Communications Chair and the Marketing and Communications Team
  • Communicate with Global organization Communications team and share with them some of the organization’s stories to be published on Global organization’s website, magazines and the organization’s global blog etc.,
  • Create and distribute communications material for upcoming events such as learning events and test drives
  • Promote the organization’s activities and member stories through various external media outlets. Raise the profile of organization in the country and region, and enhance organization growth by publicizing learning and social events
  • Create and distribute organization newsletters
  • Keep the organization up to date through email blasters of current chapter news and events
  • Manage the digital communications pages of the organization in East Africa (website, facebook etc)
Skills, Behaviors, Experience and Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of Masters or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • Must have a clear understanding directly or indirectly of what it means to be an Entrepreneur and business owner
  • Must have proven experience of working with Expatriates
  • Must be 34 years old and above
  • Must have worked in a senior management level with a proven track record
  • Must have superb listening, speaking and written communication skills
  • Should have prior experience in speaking to and negotiating with CEOs and senior executives
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours; some nights and weekends are required whenever organization is hosting some learning or social events
  • Technology proficient with devices, word and spreadsheet processing - preferably on Google Docs and able to quickly pick up new apps
  • High level of integrity and honesty as well being authentic in dealings with others
  • Have your own transport
