An exciting opportunity has arisen a for a high caliber refrigeration professional to fill the position of Refrigeration Supervisor.
 
Location: Naivasha, Kenya.
 
The Job
 
The key result areas for this position will be to:
  • prepare and provide a work plan for all refrigeration jobs;
  • assess and provide cost estimates for all refrigeration jobs;
  • service and maintain all the refrigeration equipment, air conditioners, canteen equipment, pack house and cold store equipment;
  • attend to emergency breakdowns;
  • train and develop the refrigeration team;
  • optimize the utilization of resources;
  • develop and implement quality and timely service delivery mechanism;
  • ensure compliance to all applicable standards, policies and procedures; and
  • provide timely management information.
The person
 
The ideal candidate must possess all the qualifications and competencies outlined below.
  • Diploma in refrigeration
  • At least 5 years relevant experience
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Be results oriented with unquestionable integrity and honesty
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, team working and leadership skills

The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), the umbrella body of private sector organizations in Kenya, has been tasked by the Government of Kenya with the implementation of Training and Internship component of the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP). 

KYEP is a World Bank funded project with an overall objective of increasing employability of youth in Kenya.
 
The component provides training, private sector internships and work experience to youth aged 15-29 years of age. 

KEPSA is seeking to appoint a key staff to manage and implement this project in Kisumu, initially on a two-year renewable contract
 
Project Officer - Kisumu 

Ref No. PO-003-2012 

Reporting to the KYEP Project Director at KEPSA, the Project Officer - Kisumu will perform the following duties:
 
Main Function:
 
The Project Officer-Kisumu will be responsible for provision of support in the implementation of KYEP Training and internship Component in Kisumu.
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a point of contact for the PMU of KEPSA-KYEP Training & Internship Component on all aspects relating to youth/interns, employers and other stakeholders in Kisumu;
  • Support in recruitment, selection and placement of interns within the Component in Kisumu;
  • Support in recruitment of employers in Kisumu and provide support to them as needed;
  • Monitoring of trainings for interns and master craftsmen in Kisumu;
  • Conducting field visits to interns in the workplace;
  • Assist in overseeing beneficiary assessment activities and any other evaluation (s) that may be conducted for the project in Kisumu;
  • Prepare weekly/monthly and quarterly progress reports on KYEP Training & Internship Component activities in Kisumu;
  • Perform administrative support and Financial Management functions in Kisumu with the support of the project Accountant;
  • Support payment of interns stipends and employers fees in Kisumu
  • Contribute towards the preparation of PMU work plans/budgets and any other planning documents; and
  • Any other reasonable task as may be assigned by the Project Director.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • University Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, HR; Education; or a Business-related field
  • At least three (5) years experience in Project Management of Youth Employment and Work readiness programmes
  • Basic accounting knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Good command of Computer Programs and Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision

  • At least seven years of demonstrated experience developing performance management plans, monitoring project implementation, and verifying data from large development projects;

Monitoring and Verification Manager
  • Graduate degree in the field of evaluation, international development or a related technical field; and
  • At least 7 years of international experience in the management, monitoring and evaluation of development programs, including experience developing monitoring tools, and training and managing staff in effective use of those tools.
Senior Activity Management Information Systems (AMIS) Manager
  • At least 15 years’ of professional experience in designing and maintaining management information and reporting systems, with at least 5 years’ of international experience;
  • A Master’s degree in information management or a related technical field; and
  • Demonstrated experience successfully communicating with users to create systems that meet individual and organizational needs, and to gain adoption of those systems.
Senior Recruitment Specialist
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in staff recruitment, preferably in the international development field; and
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business administration field.
Senior Communications Advisor
  • Graduate degree in the field of communication, journalism, international development or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of international experience in strategic communications, public relations, or communications for development; and
  • Demonstrated experience producing written products such as articles, reports, fact sheets, proposals, speeches, success stories, press releases, web site content, Facebook and YouTube content, managing VIP visits, and/or coordinating press relations and press seminars.
