Projects Engineer

Job Profile

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the job holder will provide engineering support to the Corporation’s construction and refurbishment projects in all functions of the business in line with business policies and ensure adherence to best safety and engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take field measurements and prepare bill of quantities and tender documents for works to be done in stations and other corporation facilities.
  • Undertake tender analysis, recommend and prepare necessary proposals.
  • Supervise consultants and contractors during project implementation and ensure that the terms of reference / bill of quantities and agreed time frames are strictly adhered to.
  • Evaluate the performance of each contractor/ consultant during and after completion of works.
  • Conduct site inspections and supervision of ongoing works and projects and prepare the necessary reports and payment certificates.
  • Ensure that all the Corporation’s facilities are in optimum operational condition.
  • Conduct periodic assessment of the Corporation’s facilities and recommend any areas for improvement.
  • In liaison with Corporate Affairs team, ensure correct branding of Corporation’s facilities.
  • Adherence to ISO procedures guiding Engineering Projects and ensure that all works meet all regulatory and Environmental Health and Safety standards required before commencement.
Requirements
  • A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Minimum five years experience in Project Supervision / Management environment.
  • Must be duly registered with Engineers Registration Board and Institution of Engineers of Kenya as a professional member in the field of Civil Engineering and possess valid practicing licenses for the last three years.
  • Conversant with Government Procurement and Disposal Act and the laid down procurement procedures.
  • Experience in the Oil industry is an added advantage.
