PEACE II is a 5-year project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) supported by Pact and Pact Kenya. The project is in its fourth year and aims to enhance African leadership in the management of conflict within the Horn of Africa.

It intends to improve the ability of communities and community based organizations to respond to conflict by strengthening the linkages between those communities and the wider civil society and government at the local and regional levels.

Pact Kenya is seeking a qualified candidate to fill in the position of Monitoring, Evaluating & Learning Officer within the PEACE II program to be based in Nairobi with regular travel to project areas within the greater Horn of Africa.

The incumbent should have the following qualifications:
  • A Masters Degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • At least seven years experience working on MERL of which two years should be in a USAID funded project/s
  • Demonstrated ability to write good reports and excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage a variety of activities concurrently. Proven ability to multi-task is essential.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high profile, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively and persuasively.
  • Fluency in English for day-to-clay communication and excellent English writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Kiswahili is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through training and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated skills in working with multinational groups and fostering collaborative relationships across multiple organizations.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas within the greater horn of Africa.
  • Ability to work under pressure of work and yet deliver effectively.
