The Aga Khan University, Nairobi invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions:

Educational Technologist

The Educational Technologist will work with faculty, students and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) support team to design/adapt and offer new and/or existing courses for blended learning.

S/he will adapt and apply appropriate pedagogic strategies and techniques, and principles of instructional design to create blended learning experiences for adult learners. S/he will also advise faculty on the appropriate uses of ICT in blended learning contexts.

Applicants must have a Masters Degree in Education or Educational Technology or Instructional Design. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of relevant teaching, curriculum design and/or educational research experience.

The successful candidate must have excellent technology skills in productivity software, Google Apps and other Free and Open Source Software. Knowledge of basic programming, graphic manipulation, editing video and audio will be an added advantage.

Administrative Officer (Research)

Reporting to the Director of Research, the Administrative Officer (Research) will coordinate research and ethical review activities in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Aga Khan University. S/he will facilitate research needs of faculty members and trainees in the education programs.

Applicants must have a Bachelors Degree in Health or Social Sciences from a recognized University. S/he should be skilled in word processing, powerpoint and excel. Experience in health research/project management and use of basic statistical packages would be an advantage.

Candidates with a higher diploma and relevant experience may be considered.

The successful candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, very good analytical and organisational skills. S/he should have meticulous attention to details.

Team Leader, Bio-Medical Engineering, -Diagnostic Centres

Reporting to the Manager, Bio-Medical Engineering, the Team Leader, Bio-Medical Engineering will carry out activities relating to imaging equipment management including maintenance (BDM & PPM), technical inspection, acceptance testing, third-party service supervision, contract monitoring, new capital equipment pre-purchase technical appraisal and annual equipment replacement plans.

Applicants must have Degree in Medical Engineering (Industrial Technology) and at least four years experience in a similar position. The ideal candidate should have knowledge on anatomy, electro mechanical, medical equipment functioning and technical maintenance of imaging equipment.

S/he should be computer literate and must be registered and/or eligible for registration with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya and/or Engineering Board of Kenya.

Clinical Pharmacist

The Clinical Pharmacist will organize the activities in the Pharmacy Department including supervising and reviewing patients’ medication profiles for individual drug dosage monitoring, drug utilization, patient education as well as train Pharmacy staff accordingly.

S/he will guide and help in retrieving drugs and poison related queries and participate in clinical research and investigational drug activities. The ideal candidate will work directly with physicians and other health providers on information regarding patient drug therapy.

Applicants must have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy and a Masters Degree in Clinical Pharmacy.

S/he should have a Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya registered and/or eligible for registration with Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya. S/he should have a minimum of 3 years hospital experience working in pharmaceutical services. Evidence of continuous education will be an added advantage.
