Purpose of the job

To ensure effective and efficient coordination and facilitation of the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of donor or own funded programmes in Somalia/Land Programs.

Oxfam Novib is looking for Project Officers with demonstrable skills and experience in either or both humanitarian and development sectors including water and sanitation, food security, nutrition and livelihoods, and social services/education.

Required knowledge
  • Completed an academic degree relevant to development & conflict management.
  • Demonstrable recent and substantial work experience with civil society sector in Somalia in both development and humanitarian programs.
  • Experience in organizational analysis & partnership, grant management & project management.
  • Experience in developing, managing and monitoring development projects by NGOs, including multi-actor programs funded by external donors.
  • At least 5 year experience in the relevant field.
  • Financial Management skills
  • Analytical thinking skills and abilities to influence others
  • Excellent social skills and a team-player.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral in English.
  • Knowledge of Somalia context is an asset and willingness to travel to Somalia.
