Position: Business Development Coordinator

Industry: Manufacturing- Bathroom / Kitchen Fittings

Location: Nairobi but with frequent travel within the region

An established manufacturer of taps, bathroom and kitchen fittings and with Head Offices in South Africa is looking for a Business Development Coordinator to support the Nairobi Showroom.

This role involves delivering the mission in the assigned territory through product demand generation, developing and maintaining contact with distributors, contractors, architects and interior designers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create & maintain project pipeline; supply of full project details as per the company’s procedures
  • Identify key channels and targets in region for project business; Identify project, follow up with distributors on quoting and winning the business
  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Coordinate the relation between the clients and our dealers to assure the clients satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with contractors, architects and designers; maintain personal contact on large key accounts and projects being developed
  • Make the technical comparison between the specified products and recommended from company products
  • Manage client requirements, by identifying and recommending products which meet their specifications
  • Achieve sales revenue numbers, budget & profit goals; achieve the targets set for the region for Project Pipeline, Project Conversion Rate, etc
  • Issue quotations, follow up with the client and update them accordingly
  • Accurate and up-to-date entry of all project data into the company’s integrated database, including appointments, leads, opportunities and Key Accounts
  • Make a frequent SWOT analysis in order to be up to date to the market threats, and defending the company’s leadership in the market; monitor and report competition activities; monitor and report any relevant changes in the legislation
Key skills and knowledge
  • University Degree / Diploma in a Marketing related field. Interior Design studies an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Business Development preferably in a multinational environment
  • Excellent sales oriented and networking skills
  • Good decision making skills
  • Very good Project Management skills
  • Outstanding ability to deliver results under pressure
  • Ability to interpret market and sales data
  • Good ability to professionally interact with various cultures
