School of Business and Economics

Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management

Requirements
  • Ph. D. (or any other relevant Doctorate degree) with three years teaching experience as lecturer or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in any two of the following: research and publications (at least three articles in a refereed journal or two chapters in books published by recognized publishers)
  • Must have experience in curriculum development and thesis supervision
  • Must have made a demonstrable contribution in his or her field of expertise; community engagement.
  • Administrative experience, such as serving as an HOD or dean is an added advantage.
School of Human and Social Science

Associate Professor in Community Development or psychology

Requirements
  • Ph D degree in Development Studies or psychology.
  • At least four (4) years teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer at University level
  • Applicants must have published at least four (4) book chapters.
Responsibilities

The applicant should be able to teach in the following areas; Development Administration; Community Development, Participatory Development , Project Management, Development Administration, Planning monitoring &Evaluation and Appropriate Technology.

The successful applicant will be expected to conduct research, publish and teach development classes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide leadership in his/her area of specialization.

Senior Lecturer in Community Development

Requirements:
  • Ph. D. (or Doctorate) with three years teaching experience as lecturer or relevant work experience.

  • Must have participated in curriculum development and thesis supervision

  • teach relevant courses at postgraduate/ undergraduate level;
  • set, moderate, assess and effectively manage university examinations;

  • Conduct and implement academic research in relevant area
  • Effectively manage and mentor students in the Programme.
School of Science, Engineering and Health

Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering

Requirements:
  • Holder of PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or have a MSC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with five (5) years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning.
  • Be able to teach a number of courses in Electronic Engineering.
  • Be a registered engineer with the Engineering Registration Board of Kenya
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have responsibility of;
  • overseeing the detailed development of the Electronic Engineering program;
  • establishing the budget for the startup;
  • overseeing the procurement of the relevant equipment and software;
  • establishing the laboratories;
  • teach relevant courses at undergraduate level
  • set, moderate, assess and effectively manage university examinations;
  • participate in design and evaluation of curriculum;
  • Identifying part time lecturers to teach in the program.
Lecturer in Computer Science

Qualifications
  • Applicant must be a Master’s degree in Computer Studies/IT.
  • First Degree Must be a computer Science or has computing components
  • Has more than three (3) years teaching experience at University level.
  • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
Responsibilities
  • Successful candidates will be expected to teach Computer Science courses at the undergraduate level
  • Set, moderate, assess and effectively manage university examinations
  • Participate in design and evaluation of curriculum.
  • Effectively manage and mentor students in Computer Science Programme.
Lecturer in Mathematics

Requirements
  • Holder of PhD in Mathematics or be a holder of MSC in Mathematics with five (5) years teaching experience in an institution of higher education.
  • Be a Christian, actively involved in the church or Christian community
  • Holders of PhD and M.sc in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science are particularly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have responsibility of;
  • Teaching of mathematics courses to undergraduate students
  • Participate in the implementation of the Mathematics major
  • Mentoring of students by living a life that integrates their faith with scholarship
  • Assist the identification of the relevant equipment and software in the teaching of Mathematics
  • Assist in mentoring of the part time lecturers who may teach in the program.
  • Serve the wider community of Daystar and without Daystar.
Lecturer in Nursing (Reproductive Health/ Midwifery)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach Reproductive and Community Health Nursing.
  • Set, moderate, assess and effectively manage university examinations.
  • Develop, plan, implement and review of nursing curricula.
  • Effectively manage and mentor students in the nursing programme.
  • Carry out clinical assessments of the students in reproductive and community health in clinical settings.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Reproductive Health or a related Nursing field with at least five years of teaching Reproductive health nursing in a recognized University.
  • Hold a valid practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Be a committed Christian with a strong desire to serve Jesus Christ through teaching.
  • Be self-motivated and willing to serve.
  • Be experienced in curriculum development.
  • Published at least three journal articles in peer reviewed journals since the last promotion.
  • Be computer proficient.
School of Communication, Language and Performing Arts

Senior Lecturer in Electronic Media

Requirements
  • Ph. D. (or any other relevant Doctorate degree) with three years teaching experience as lecturer or relevant work experience,
  • Demonstrated experience in any two of the following: research and publications (at least three articles in refereed journals or two chapters in books published by recognized publishers.

Requirements

  • Having made a demonstrable contribution in his or her field of expertise; community engagement.
  • Having administrative experience, such as serving as an HOD or dean is an added advantage.

Human Resource Department

Assistant Human Resources Officer

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate recruitment and selection process.
  • Facilitate induction programmes
  • Facilitate staff medical scheme and other staff insurance.
  • Maintain and Update the staff establishment
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as NSSF and NHIF
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences in Human Resource, Commerce with three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources and Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Progressive and proven experience in recruitment process, including variety of recruitment techniques.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the labour laws
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be creative, proactive and have the ability to make decisions at their level.
  • Mature personality with capacity of handling confidential matters
  • High honesty and integrity
  • Able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Those with training or experience in legal matters will have an added advantage.
