Summary:

The purpose of this appointment is to assist in carrying out large-scale microarray work aimed at exploring transcriptional variation among malaria parasites.

Reporting Lines:

The appointee will report to the Principal Investigator (Dr. M. Mackinnon).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-throughput RNA Extractions.
  • Perform high-throughput DNA extractions.
  • Perform microarray hybridizations.
  • Perform ELISA assays.
  • Genotyping of parasite material.
  • Parasite cell culture.
  • Perform PCR assays
Skills and Competence:

Qualification and experience
  • A BSc. in biological sciences is essential and/or MSc. in biological sciences.
  • Good organizational skills in order to manage the large-scale nature of this work.
  • Good team player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Motivation to see projects to completion.
  • Good computer skills are highly desirable.
